![]() So yeah, I wondered about that also, but chalked it up to an undocumented design change somewhere along the line.Īnd yes, they are germainum, as are the NTE 121s which cross reference. The schematic/parts list indicates 35524 in four of the eight sockets, but all eight of mine are clearly marked 35144. So, I guess my questions to the group are:ġ) Does anyone know which RCA type the TR35144 part number actually corresponds to? You know, 2N.something or another?ģ) Would NTE transistors in the output stage really be that bad, or is their reputation a result of undeserved online lore? I'm sure they're an RCA type 2N something or another, but I can't find anything to tell me which type that actually is. Problem is, despite searching online and through a 300-page RCA semiconductor databook from 1966 at the local library, I can find no reference whatsoever to actual specifications based on the "TR35144" number. What I'd like to try to do is find some NOS or even straight-up used transistors that would have specs close enough to the original parts so as to be a decent substitution. Of course, the NTE option is expensive ($22 each x 8), not highly regarded among the online communiity for some reason, and might not even be the optimal replacement, purely from a specification standpoint. From everything I've read online, the "TR35144" RCA part number printed on the parts and in the service manual is cross-referenced to NTE-121. I'm looking at a plastic baggie full of shorted output transistors from my Fisher 690-A 'hybrid' chassis (tube pre-amp/driver, transistor output), and wondering what the best strategy for replacing them might be. I posted this in the 'Fisher' forum, but got to thinking this forum may be another good alternative.

The player to the left of the dealer will then decide whether he or she accepts the up-card suit as the Trump suit, or would prefer to turn it down, or pass. When the dealer finishes passing out cards, he or she will turn the next card in the remaining cards (called the kitty) over and set it down, face-up. The order may be different from player to player. If one player was dealt two cards in the first rotation, the dealer will then give him or her three cards in the next, or three in the first, and two in the next. The dealer then deals out five cards to each player in two clockwise rotations around the table, which means two or three cards per round. Once chosen, the dealer then shuffles the cards and offers the player to the left with the choice to cut the deck, or to play it as is. The first dealer of the game is randomly selected from the four players, and afterwards, will rotate in a clockwise direction throughout the game. If a team scores ten points first in a round, that team wins the game. The goal of the game is to win the trick by playing the high card in each round, and to win more tricks than the other team. How To Play EuchreĮuchre is a very social game considered to belong to the “trick-taking” genre, along with hearts and spades. Keep reading to learn what you need to know about this classic card game that’s been passed down for generations by Euchre lovers all over the world, and why it’s an enjoyable pastime, perfect for playing with family and friends. Whether you’re not familiar with the game or are a seasoned expert, this ultimate guide to Euchre will explain everything you need to know about the game-including its history and background, how to play Euchre, important variations to the rules, and more. This social aspect of the game, perhaps, is part of the reason why Euchre is more likely to be played in quaint, small-town bars and tournaments at pubs and taverns, local community gatherings, and small, intimate kitchen table get-togethers amongst friends. Unlike other popular card games where individual players compete against each other to win, euchre is a team sport that focuses more on interpersonal communication and social strategies, skills which may be found lacking in a typical game of poker. If you’ve never heard of the game before, you might be surprised to learn that Euchre is one of the world’s oldest and most popular card games with roots dating back to 18th century Europe. ![]() Using a flathead screwdriver, lift the casing from the bottom and pull the casing off.It doesn’t come off super easily and needs a pull, but it is meant to come off. Make sure the hopper is rotated to the coarsest setting before pulling up. Remove the hopper, rubber collar, and upper burr.Other times you might want to totally disassemble are when upgrading burrs or if you haven’t cleaned your grinder in more than six months.īut here’s how to go about disassembling: I would only recommend disassembling it in case you need to make a repair. In fact, it’s almost never worth totally disassembling your grinder. This includes the motor, base, and bottom burr.ĭo I recommend totally disassembling your grinder every time you need a clean? The body is the main hardware of the Encore. The casing is the outside of the grinder. The casing is removable, but you need extra tools. Those are the hopper, chamber, rubber collar, and upper burr. The accessories are easily removable parts. Now, there are three main components to your Baratza Encore burr coffee grinder: How Do You Disassemble Your Baratza Encore? If there are stubborn clumps of coffee ground in the lower burr, you can use a skewer or chopstick to dislodge and clean them up. Use a skewer to dislodge stubborn clumps. The chute that leads from the burrs to the chamber needs attention as well. You can also run a damp rag around the exterior of your grinder to finish off your cleaning. It’s fine to wash your hopper and chamber with water, however. Washing your burrs with water can lead to rust and corrosion, especially if you have steel burrs. Here are a few tips I picked up in my years as a barista and as an owner of an Encore: Also, if you tend to leave extra beans in your hopper for a long time, coffee oil and bean fragments might get stuck and also end up in your brew. The hopper and chamber are still part of your grinding system! Any leftover grounds in the chamber might end up in your brew, and that’s not ideal. A lot of people seem to forget this step. Once the burrs are clean, turn your attention to the coffee bean hopper, chamber, and outside. If the bottom burr is especially dirty, I recommend going back to the chute again after this step to double-check that it’s clear. Use the brush and pick to clean the opening of the bottom burr to the chute. You need something to dig into the bottom burr and really go for those clumps. That’s why I recommend having a pipe cleaner if you don’t have the provided brush anymore. It’s important to clean the entire system from hopper to chamber. Don’t forget this part! While you can get your burrs squeaky clean with the brush, the chute is usually a more likely culprit for clogs. Clean the chute from burrs to chamber.Don’t be afraid of scrubbing at stubborn clumps, you won’t damage the burrs. Using a stiff-bristled brush like the one provided to you, get all the coffee grounds stuck to the burrs off. ![]() For reference, I remove the top burr about every other time I clean my grinder. While you can get a good amount of cleaning done without removing the top burr, I would still recommend removing it for a deep clean. You need your grinder to be on the coarsest setting before you can remove the hopper. Turn your grind size to the coarsest setting, number 40.This isn’t super necessary, but it can be a helpful and quick way to clear out any clogs or clumps of ground coffee that are hard to get.Īnd honestly, that’s all you need for a thorough cleaning of your burr grinder. It seems that purposeful lack of communication, delayed responsiveness, and intimidation are the mission statement of this company. In addition, the companies terms of agreement state that the consumer can "close their account at any time." This is misleading communication, and evasive to those who wish to cancel prior to the end of their trial agreement. No where on the invoice is it mentioned that the consumer is strictly prohibited from terminating services. They then send me an invoice and call it a contract. They then tell me that I have a 12 month "contract" that cannot be cancelled. It again takes days for someone to respond. I again mentioned that I am not a business owner, would no longer need the "mood board" option, and have never utilized any other resources from the company as they do not relate to me. I again message the company stating I would like to terminate my subscription, that I attempted to do so in February with no response. I start receiving emails in May stating that my account was past due for payment and they will send me to collections. I attempted to end my subscription, and received a response days after my 30 day trial ended stating that my cancellation request was received and that someone would be reaching out shortly.
